Google recently announced that they’ll be rolling out the brand-new ad format soon. Gallery ads are interactive ads that will soon be launching on mobile. They’ll sit at the top of search engine results and feature swipe-able image carousels, much like the ones on Instagram or Facebook.
The ads will provide a massive opportunity for B2B and B2C companies. Providing the chance to stand out in the competitive digital marketing space. The Impactful imagery will leave a lasting impression, where text struggles to make an impression at all.
Advertisers will be able to use a minimum of 4 images and a maximum max of 8. You’ll be able to write a unique tagline, of up to 70 characters, to accompany each slide. The best part? You’ll be able to test three unique headlines. We expect the ads to be sold on a cost-per-click basis.
Combining search with creative, gallery ads promise to deliver great returns for business owners. According to Prabhakar Raghavan, Senior Vice President at Google, following testing “ad groups including one or more gallery ad have up to 25 per cent more interactions—paid clicks or swipes—at the absolute top of the mobile search results page”.
